From this page the Division provides links to work by our own members, and others, on the history of geology and other Earth Sciences. This endeavour is different from, but related to, the work that the Society does on our Geological Heritage.

Some history, of course, is recorded in our own archives, and reviewing the information in our own publications, awards, and symposia, is rewarding. Some information in distinguished early researchers can also be found on the Bright Sparcs website.

The GSA's Earth Science History Group is a Specialist Group within the GSA. The current organising committee is in Victoria. Details of the ESHG's activities can be found at the Chairman's website, and an example of its work is here.
