Each month the Geological Society of Australia Victoria Division holds a general meeting. This meeting is normally held at 6.30pm in the Fritz Loewe Lecture Theatre in the School of Earth Sciences at the University of Melbourne. The School of Earth Sciences is located on the corner of Swanston and Elgin Streets (Melways 75A E15).

The main purpose of each meeting is the presentation of a monthly seminar by an invited speaker, but also to allow the GSAV committee to keep its members informed of the business of the GSAV, including upcoming events and functions.

Each general meeting is preceded by a drinks and nibbles session where members can get together and discuss issues or just catch up. Each person is asked to contribute $2 towards the cost of the drinks and food for the evening.

Everyone is welcome to attend the monthly meetings of the GSAV.

Anyone interested is also welcome to attend the monthly committee meetings of the GSAV, which usually begin at 4 pm in a venue near the general meeting venue. If you have an offer, suggestion, or proposal to put to the committee, contact the President or Secretary to arrange for your contribution to be added to the agenda.
